Congratulations Carol

On February 11th Carol Seitz hosted a get together celebrations for all off her downline to celebrate her new title, Manager.  I was her first downline and I have learned so much from her.  If it wasn't for Carol, I wouldn't be teaching all these classes today.  In fact, when I signed up I told her I just wanted the discounted starter kit deal.  Now Carol has 7 downlines.  Congratulations Carol!  My 3 downlines were also at the get together, even Mary Sue from Wisconsin.  I promoted to Senior Supervisor in January after Diane Doumitt signed up.  Carol hosted a beautiful luncheon and of course we made cards after lunch.  What a fun day!  If you want to have lots of fun with fellow card makers join our group.   Ask me how the next time we meet.

All Dressed Up Birthday

I CASED this card off someone's blog.  I can't remember her name.  I love this new stamp set All Dressed Up.  Carol H. one of  my club members received this card this month for her birthdy.  I said I wasn't going to buy it when the Spring catalog first came out.  At Leadership there were so many adoreable cards made with this set, of course I had to buy it!  Does that ever happen to you?

Another Use for Hair Mousse

I saw a card similar to this on the display boards at Leadership in Orlando last month.   The stamp set is Secret Garden.  I think the background was created with shaving cream mixed with reinker and then dip the paper in it and wipe off.  I didn't have any shaving cream in the house so I improvised with styling mousse.  I think it turned out pretty nice!  I gave this birthday gift card to Carol H. one of my club members.  Her daughters purchased a gift certificate for Stampin' Up product for her.  If you would like a special gift card and certificate for a birthday or holiday, tell your family to contact me.

SWEET TREATS

This is a box of the special Valentine treats Nancy and I shared with our Canal Street class participants on February 14th.

Sherry Jacobs brought special Valentine sugar cookies with piped pink and white frosting.  I forgot to take a picture.  Thank you Sherry.  You are so SWEET.  The treat box above was made by Karen Harrison for Nancy and I.  She is a fellow Stampin' Up demo who attends our class each Winter.  Thank you Karen, they are beautiful!

I love Rides, Do You?

This is yet another valentine created with a Sale-a-bration set and my favorite Feeling Sentimental.  I sent it to my youngest daughter Breanne.  She now loves thrill rides.  I used the Sale-a-bration paper and ribbon.  The That's the Ticket stamp set works so well with this vintage set.

LUV YOU A TON!

This is the third valentine I designed using the Sale-a-bration set patterned occasions.  It will be sent to my nephew.  I used markers and left off the greeting and flower.  I used the owl punch to make the tiny hearts.

LUV THOSE JEANS

This Valentine will be sent to my 2 neices and nephew who love to wear jeans.  I saw a card similar to this at Leadership.  The cloud embossing folder and apothecary framelit was used on that card.  I used the heart frame to go with the valentine theme.  I hope they will love it.  Do You?

Summer Silhouettes Cards

The top card is a Club card for February.  I CASED it from a Leadership display board.  The middle and lower cards are some more variations I made for January birthdays.  I bought this set a while back but this is the first time I used it.  I was impressed with how easy it was to construct the flowers with the clear mount without using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  The middle card I did some cutting of the flower and punched the center with itty bitty shape punch and popped it up!

Using Blocks to Create a Background

Have you ever used acrylic blocks to create a background?  I have used this technique once before at a Canal Street class.  This is a CASED card from Mary Fish.  The colors I used are very similar to hers but not the same.  If you want the background to be softer, ink the block and stamp of on scratch paper one time before stamping on your card.  Here's the card below we made at Canal Street class a while back with this technique.  Were you there?

Just Had to Stamp during Leadership Conference

At Leadership in Orlando Carol Seitz and I received this stamp set for attending.  Unlike past years there was no make and take.  Instead it was a take and make.  I had a few markers and paper with me because I finished my swap cards while in Orlando.  So after our first evening, Carol and I came back to our condo and we stamped.  This is what I  created with the limited supplies and paper I had on hand.  It is not as layered as I like but the stamped images give some nice texture.  What do you think?

Catch the Chalkboard Technique Craze

Do you like learning new techniques?  I have an openning in my club that meets the first Friday of the month at 9am.  We make 3-4 cards.  Members take turns being hostess.  Let me know if you are interested in joining.  We are making this card in all my clubs this month.  The designer series paper is from Print Poetry Designers Series Paper Pack #129312 $6.95.  The pack is 48 sheets of 12 double sided designs measuring 4 1/2x 6 1/2.  It is a great price and has a lot of variety in one pack.  There are colors for women and men.

Here's how to make a Chalkboard Card.
Supplies needed:
Basic Black Card Stock
Whisper White Craft Ink or White Staz On Ink
White Emboss Powder
Heat Tool
Cloth Rag
White Pencil
Draw a white line with a white pencil (I used water color pencil) around the perimeter of your black cardstock.  Mine measures 3 3/4 x 3 3 1/2.  I made my lines 1/4" wide.  I used the grid paper  and a ruler to make my lines.  Stamp a variety of images on your "Chalkboard" with your white ink and apply embossing powder.  Heat with the heat tool.  You may want to stamp and emboss images one at a time so the ink doesn't dry on you before applying the powder to each one.  When done with all the images dip the cloth rag in the white ink and smear some ink like smudges on an erased chalkboard.  What a cool affect don't you think?

Primrose Petals card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, mat  4 x 5 1/4
DSP 1 x 4 1/4
Basic Black 3 1/2 x 3 3/4
In Color Dahlias
3/8" satin stitch primrose petals ribbon
