March 28th Canal Street Class

These are the 2 cards I designed for class on the 28th.  The morning class had a yellow dress and the afternoon a red dress.  I love my new Oh, Whale! stamp set and matching clearlit.  I am drawn to sets that have clever sayings to go with them(Thanks a ton!, Get whale soon, Whalecome!, Whale you be mine?)  I die cut the whale on the front with the clearlit.  I stamped the whale inside.  I saw a card on Mary Fish's web sit that inspired this card.  I used different paper and a different Mojo Monday layout.  check back tomorrow for more cards with this set.

Printer Tray Variations

My printer tray class participants will have the option of attaching the Mother's day or Father's day oval over the butterflies for those 2 special weekends.  The rest of the Spring and Summer the butterflies will be showing.  I will design it so the butterflies and ovals are attached with Velcro.  The Designer series paper used is Parker's Patterns from the Spring catalog.

Printer Tray Class

I had so much fun teaching the Halloween and Christmas Printer Tray so I've designed another that can be used May through September.  It has a Patriotic Theme.  I'm waiting for the stamp set Words of Courage, page 27 of the Annual catalog.  One of the boxes will be changeable with pieces attached with Velcro.  If you have this Stampin' Up printer tray to use, the class is $20 for the inserts.  If you don't have it, I have a printer tray from a store.  That tray has 10 compartments.  It will be similar.  The cost will be $35.  The first class will be April 18th at 1pm.  Contact me if you are interested.  Check back tomorrow to see the butterfly box and the changeable variations.

Easter card for class on March 20th

This card was CASED from Gail Emmons posted on Stampin' Connections.  Her card had just Easter Blessings with the decorative stamp at the top and the bottom.  That is from Amazing Family(Spring catalog).  The Easter blessings stamp and A little bit of Spring stamp set are also in the Spring catalog.  The colors used are Wisteria Wonder ink and So Saffron marker.  The card is cut with the ovals frames.  Check out  Gail's tutorial to make this card lastminutestamper.com

Carrie's Second Card from March 14th at Canal Street

The stamp set A little bit of Spring was used  #126011(c)  #126009(w).  We used water color pencils and aqua painters to color the images.  I just love the peekaboo frames bigz die #124587.  We used the  Simply Scored scoring tool to add a little extra detail on the bottom of the card.  We colored the flower trim with Stampin' Write Marker.

Carrie's Cards from March 14th Canal St. Class

This card is a CASE from Gail Sachtleben.  She had a Easter greeting on it.  I added a rhinestone to the center of the cross.  The butterflies were stamped with black Staz On, colored with Basheful Blue and Marina Mist or So Saffron and Pretty in Pink.  I then added dazzling diamonds glitter to the outside edges of the wings and applied Crystal Accents.  I think the butterfly really makes the card.  Check back tomorrow for the other card from March 14th.

New Clear Photopolymer Stamps

NEW! Clear Photopolymer Stamps from Stampin' Up

Stampin' Up has searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And now I'm excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The top-quality photopolymer (not the thin acrylic, which is often flimsy and does not wear well over time) has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time-- and with the introduction of our new firm-foam pads, that's a match made in heaven!
Fans of clear stamps have loved our clear-mount option. You're also going to love this amazing new option from Stampin' Up, making papercrafting easier than ever! even us old red-rubber wood-mount die-hards are excited, because we know Stampin' Up has done their research and brought us the best clear photopolymer stamps on the market today.
Why try photopolymer stamps?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They're easy to clean and care for. They also take up ridiculously little space!
  • They use FDA-approved food-safe material. Just in case Junior thinks they're candy.
  • They're super inexpensive! Our debut set, Designer Typeset has 57 images for just $13.95

Lisa's Birthday Card

This is the card I sent my sister for her birthday.  It is today.  I CASEd this card from Wendie Waldman on Stampin' Connections.  I changed the colors of the dress form.  I don't know if Lisa will get it but I chose the colors because when we were growing up my Mom often dressed us in similar outfits but her's were blue and mine were pink.  Pink is still my favorite color.

Love Those Tea Lace Paper Doilies

I CASED this card from Carolyn Lindenmayer.  The Tea for Two paper and Tea  Lace work so well together.  I added a tea cup inside from Tea Shoppe and the saying on the doily from the same stamp set.  The front stamped images are from the Oh, Hello set.  Check back tomorrow for another card with the doilies.

Diorama Easter Card

I found the directions for this style card in a You tube video from Connie Stewart.  She called it a stand up card.  I went to a seminar during leadership that she did about blogging and making you tube videos.  What a talented lady!  She has the most engaging personality!  Thanks Connie for the inspiration.

Madison Ave. Flowers

Stampin' Up does such a great job making coordinating products.  It's what made me fall in love with their product and decide to be a demo.  It's so much fun!  Won't you join me?  The starter kit is only $99 now until March 22nd.  You can pick anything out of the catalogs up to $156.50 with no shipping.
The card above will be made in all my clubs in March.  This card was CASED from Michelle Weber.  Until I saw her card I didn't realize the flower shape was the same shape as the smallest Floral frames Framelits.  We used the itty bitty punch pack 4 petal punch to fill in the stamped border inside the card.

Upcoming Class March 20th at Canal Street during Scrapbooking

Nancy and I will be having a class at our scrapbooking group for scrapbooking friends.  If you would like to sign up talk to Nancy or I.  The class is $12 for 4 cards.  I will be teaching this card and another Easter card.  This card would work well for Easter or sympathy.  I CASEd this card from Ann Marques on Stampin' Connections.  She used it for a Sympathy card.  Her's had God Bless you stamped on it and a large rhinestone in the center of the cross.  I used a small pearl.  We will stamp Easter Blessings inside or a sympathy sentiment.  I hope you will join us.

Let's Fly Away

My neighbor Garnette asked me to search for some ideas for a dinoroar card.  I saw this cute card on Stampin' Connections with the pteradactyl flying inside the card.  I had to give this card design a try.  There went 2 hours of my evening.  Sometimes I let a project take me in totally and time just gets away from me.  It was fun though.

Carrie's Cards from Feb. 28th Canal Street Class

The class favorite of my cards was the blue jean card above.  The tricks to assemble are to attach the bakers twine on the back with demensionals a little tighter than shown.  Pop up the mat with demensionals.  Place the jeans over the line with a dimensional.  Pull down slightly on the line.  The middle jean was stamped off to get that acid washed look.  We used rhinestones, a punched flower, and a bakers twine knot to decorate the jeans.

Nancy's Cards from February 28, 2013

Here's 2 great cards that Nancy prepared for Canal Street classes on February 28th.  She used Sale-A-Bration sets on both.  My favorite is the top card.  I love the colors in the Sycamore Street Designer series Papers used on the bottom card with matching ribbon.  Place an order today of $50 or more and receive free Sale-A-Bration products.
