My First Sketch Challenge

Well Folks this is my first attempt at posting on a challenge site.  I used the new Spring Catalog Designers Series Paper Tea for Two.  The stamp set is Tea Shoppe.  I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits a carry over item found on page 36 of the Spring catalog.

I did a heat emboss with versa mark ink and clear embossing powder and use Pretty in Pink ink to do an emboss resist.  I cut it out and popped it up with demensionals.  See other paper players cards using this sketch

January 10,2013 Canal Street Cards

These are Nancy Thompson's cards from Canal Street Recreation Center from the 10th.  Thank you Nancy for covering class by yourself so I could attend Leadership in Orlando.  Keely Sicher did a great job helping with the class.  I hear that lining up the embossed image to cut with the Secret Garden framelits was a bit of a challenge but certainly worth the beautiful results!

These are the 4 cards from class on December 27th at Canal Street Recreation Center. Nancy taught the class with the help of our friend Carol Heistercamp. We also had a visit from The Sun newspaper. First Ever Customer Event in Orlando

Valentine Club Card

I didn't realize this set was not carrying over from the Holiday catalog.  I was waiting for Valentine's Day to use it.  It is called Affection Collection.  I received this set a Stampin' Up Convention in July.  I'm sorry I didn't use it sooner.  Maybe it will turn up in the next Annual Catalog.   I CASED this card from a Convention idea board.  I added a extra layer and moved my hearts side by side instead of on either side of the LOVE.  I hope I get lots of ideas from Leadership Convention today.

By The Tide Leadership Swap Card

I love this new stamp set--By the Tide #129120 clear mount $19.95 and #129117 $27.95.  It works perfect with 2011-2013 In Colors Calypso Coral & Pool Party.  Pair it with Stampin' Ups beautiful Neutrals and it's a winning combination.  I used a little Pink Pirouette on the shell and over the words.  I sponged the sand on with Crumb Cake ink.  A little Pool Party sponged around gives it a pretty Caribbean water affect.  I love the new natural 7/16" Trim ribbon.  It's so soft and great for nature inspired cards.  #129287 $6.95 for 5yds.  THIS IS THE CARD I FINALLY DECIDED ON FOR THE LEADERSHIP SWAP.  Was it your favorite? 

Swap Card try Number Two

I tried some different shapes and brought in another color.  This card was scrapped also.  Check back tomorrow the start of Leadership Convention in Orlando to see the card that made the cut.  I've been in Orlando since January 4th.  The first three days celebrating my 32nd  wedding anniversary.  On Monday friends joined me for some relaxation, sun, scrapbooking and finishing those swap cards.  Tomorrow Carol Seitz my upline joins me for Leadership.  I hope all of Canal Street attendees are enjoying card making with my downline Nancy Thompson.  Thanks Nancy for holding down the fort while I'm at Leadership.  And thanks again for joining so I could attend!    

Goin' Fishin'

I CASED this card from Heidi Baks.  I changed the Designer Series Paper but kept everyting else.  It probably will not be a good card for mailing with the stick fishing pole.  This card uses my favorite set out of the Spring catalog--By The Tide.  My club is making this card this month.  Heidi also made two other cards with this set that I absolutely LOVE!  Check out her blog :http://runningwscissorsstamper.blogspot.com/

Wisteria Wonder Coral not a Wonder

This is my first try cards for my first Leadership Convention swap.  I have a lot of this  color card stock and it is similar color to the corals I see while diving in the Caribbean.  I've never seen a seahorse while diving but the summer starfruit color is a common color of seahorses.  Although nature is pretty perfect, I scrapped this card.

Waterwashed Serene Tree

If you saw my card posted yesterday this is a more colorful version I CASED from Dawn Olchefske.  Dawn Olchefske posted a tutorial on this technique on her blog.  The watercoloring is done on shimmer white paper.  It has a nice sparkle and is heavier weight.  I used the new honeycomb embossing folder.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorites.  I did this card for my club this month.

Serene Tree Card

I was back in Wisconsin for Christmas and I visited with my friends from my previous job at Forest View Pediatrics.  I had a card class for 4 of them.  This is one of the cards we made.  I had a lot of fun catching up with them and showing them all the fun I'm having now.
