November 29th Canal Street Cards

This card was made in the afternoon class.  I saw this card idea on Stampin' Connections by Wendy Waldman.  It is not new.  Carol Seitz as made sililar cards using a different stamp set with gingerbread men.

The morning class did not want to do Christmas cards so the card above was done instead.  The stamp set is Serene Silhouttes.  It was CASED from Kristina Kloc who made this card for her Regional swap.
I made the ship in the bottle after seeing it on Stampin' Connections by Carolyn Lindenmayer.  She had CASED it also.  Marjorie Martin requested we make this card at class.  If you see a card you like ask and we may make it for the next class.  Everyone did great with the stamp a ma jig.  We stamped in Soft Sede ink and then colored the water with bashful blue marker.

The 2 cards above were Nancy Thompson's.  We will have sign ups for January 10th class on December 13th.  December 27th we will take reservations for January 27th.  The class fee is now $12 for 4 cards.

Fall Printer Tray

This is the Fall Printer Tray I designed for myself.  Thank you Carol Seitz for letting me use your stamps.  Some are retired.  I love how it turned out.  I used Orchard Harvest designer paper from the holiday catalog.  The stamp sets from the holiday catalog are perfectly preserved, seasonal sayings .  from the annual catalog gently falling.  My husband did not like the cobs of corn.  He kept saying- "What does corn have to do with Thanksgiving?"  Can you explain it to him ladies?

Fall CASed card

Now when I see a card I love, I sit down and make it right away.  Unfortunately I usually don't remember where and it takes some time to find it again to give credit.  This card was posted on Sandi MacGiver's blog on November 7th.  I was so anxious to make it and I couldn't find my spritzer bottles.  I emptied one that had shimmer paint and alcohol in it.  I thought I rinsed it.  Sometimes mistakes make things better.  Sandi's tutorial advised spraying water over the inked stamp before pressing to the paper to give it a watercolor affect.  It took me two tries to get an image I liked.  So there are 2 flowers on my card.  The mistake that turned out awesome is the sparkle from the residual champagne mist shimmer paint(pg 158 $5.95) on the card.  It doesn't photograph well though.

Christmas Printer Tray Class

Yesterday was my Christmas Printer Tray Class.  Eight ladies came to my house for the class.  We had a great time!  Patty Anne brought candy canes to share with everyone.  Nancy Wicksrom had her friend Jeanie visiting.  She had never stamped before.  This was not a beginner project. we did lots of heat embossing.  She did a excellent job.  Some of the ladies suggested doing a Valentine and Easter printer tray.  We'll see if I can find time for that!  Let me know if you have the printer tray and want to do another holiday.

Christmas Lodge tree

The tree is embossed with gumball green embossing powder.  I love the vintage faceted designer buttons which are great for a project like this.  I saw this idea using designer paper at the botttom of the image in the Holiday catalog  page 19.  The ornaments on the tree are made with cherry cobbler dazzling details.

Another box

This is my favorite box.  I used silver glimmer paper and whisper white paper to make the snowflakes.  I used the make a mitten stamp set and mitten builder punch.  The square lattice embossing folder gives the mittens a demensional look.  The new silicone pad in the Holiday catalog makes making the half rosette a breeze.  I used the garden green button from the regals buttons.

Another box from the Christmas printer tray

I used 2 images from the Open Sleigh set.  I love the way the rhinestones look in the middle of the flower shaped buttons.  The sleigh is embossed with cherry cobbler embossing powder to make it pop.

Christmas Printer box

Here's another close up of my Christmas Printer box.  I embossed the image with black embossing powder.  The image is from Beautiful Season.  I used a blender pen, cherry cobbler, certainly celery and sahara sand markers.

Interested in seeing Stampin' Success magazine for demos.  Take a look at this preview.  http://bit.ly/StampinSuccess_NovDec2012

Christmas Printer Box

I had 8 ladies make the Halloween Printer tray decor piece in October designed by Stampin' Up.   I promised them I would follow with a Christmas Printer Tray class.  The class cost was $40 if they used a new tray.  It was $20 for those who are switching out their Halloween tray.  I had so much fun designing this.  In the first box I embossed with black ink the house from  Christmas Lodge .   I colored the snow with a signo white gel pen.  I used silver glimmer paper for the snow.  The background paper is from Snow Festival DSP.(pg. 10 Holiday catalog).  The last box at bottom right I will be redesigning.  I will post it on a future blog.  This class is full as I only have 6 printer trays.  I will post a Fall/Thanksgiving Printer tray that I designed for myself next week.

Snowflake Card

I CASED this card off stampin' connection so long ago I don't remember who posted it.  I love making my own shimmer paper.  It doesn't show up well on the picture.  The shimmer is great!  Just mix some shimmer Frost White shimmer paint(pg. 158  SU annual catalog) with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer(pg. 179) and spray a light mist over paper.  Allow to dry before stamping.  It's almost as sparkly as SU shimmer paper.  Club 2 and 3 will also make this card at the end of the month.  I also love the piercing detail circle around the popped up snowflake.  The demo I CASED had figured out that the blossom punch worked perfectly with this snowflake from Snowflake Soiree.

Gingerbread Boy Spinner Card

This is another fun card we made at club on Friday.  I got the idea after seeing a butterfly spinner card on Catherine Pooler's blog.  The stamp sets used were Petite Pairs, Scentsational Christmas snd Make a Mitten.  The punches used were 2 1/2" circle and 1 1/4" scallop circle pg. 7 holiday catalog.  The gingerbread boy and candy cane are cut with  holiday collection framelits pg. 16 of the holiday catalog.

I found the directions for this easy waterfall card on Lyssa Zwolneck blog http://songofmyheartstampers.typepad.com/.a/6a00e554f4a3a48834017c329e59cf970b-pi

I made this card with my club on Friday.  the top picture was the inside of the card.  I CASED the outside pretty much as Lyssa had made it.

The New Stampin' Trimmer

Introducing the new and improved Stampin' Trimmer! Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters-and because it was made by Stampin' Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!
Features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer
  • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2" ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4" (4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
  • Product details: item 126889; $29.95
Sharing the All-New Stampin' Trimmer
To help you best showcase this exciting new product in your classes, parties, and events, try the following scripting ideas:
  • "Remember how frustrating it was to try and cut regular-sized cards on the old paper trimmer? With the new trimmer, the base has been extended so you can make most of your common cuts and measurements without even extending the ruler!"
  • "So many features of this tool make it the best on the market. The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting. The handle shows you exactly where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin and end. And, with the specially-designed insertion point, the handles snap into the track easily without bending or bowing the track itself-which helps to keep the track straight and rigid."
  • "Have you ever thought you were getting a straight cut, but it turned out to be bowed? The new handles and cutting track are so stable, your cuts will be perfectly straight!"
  • "This tool is all about ease-the cutting track is longer than 12" making it so easy to cut or score a full sheet of cardstock without having to remove any of the blades!"
Of course, the very best way to show off and sell this tool is to get it into the hands of your customers-be sure to plan a Make & Take that allows everyone to make a few cuts and slices!
