Sand Couple

I cased this card from Carol Seitz.  Her card was a girl with a greetings from Florida sign.  I thought the idea was great for a card for my husband for Christmas.  We live in The Villages, FL.  We love to take vacations to islands and spend time on the beach or in the water snorkeling and scuba diving.  This is our first time since moving to Florida 4 years ago that we have not gone North for Christmas.  I can't say I'm missing seeing snow and snowmen.  I do miss seeing my family though!  What do you think, will he like this card?  I hope it gives him a chuckle.  I used the new fringe scissors to make the skirt and head and waist band on the man.  I braided the fringes for the sandman.  I love the greeting I used from Christmas Messages.  I'm glad it's a carryover stamp set.  I used a retired set in the inside.  It just fit the theme so well.  The Snow Days stamp set was used to create this card.

This card was made with the chalk board technique.  Everyone did very well with it, even though there were many steps.  The snowman and snowflakes were stamped with white craft ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  We drew a line around the border with a white pencil and then smeared some white craft ink with a cloth to give it an erased chalk board look.  The good thing about this technique is that it is very forgiving.  If your new to embossing you should give it a try! 

The second card was also a new technique for everyone.  We applied the background color with painter's tape.  Using a long piece of that blue painter's tape,  place the tape on top the ink pad, rub lightly then pick up and apply to the paper.  Again rub lightly on top the tape and remove.  Everyone's will look a little different.  We used daffodil delight, gumball green and soft suede inks.  The moose was then stamped over the background with Black Staz On ink.  

Merry Christmas 2013

These are the 2 cards I sent out this year to friends and family.  We visited Milwaukee for Thanksgiving so this is our first Christmas staying home in The Villages.  Our daughter Breanne is now living with us so we are with family as well as great friends who are like family--Kim and Lynn.  Merry Christmas to all!  See you at class at Canal Street Rec Center at 11am tomorrow.

Demo Lunch Christmas Card Exchange

Our demo gathering was 12 people.  To avoid stressing us out, we all made one special card to exchange with one person at the gathering.  This is the card I made using the festive flurry bundle.  I made the card so the ornament adorning the front of the card could be removed and hung on a Christmas tree.  The frosted finishes really makes them special.  They are like jewelry!  I even lined the envelope using the new envelope liners framelits.

Holiday Decor Frame

This is the gorgeous décor item Carol Seitz made for me.  I absolutely fell in love with this Winter Frost Designer series paper this Holiday Catalog that Carol used.  It looked best in my daughter Breanne's room which has a coastal beachy theme.  Doesn't it look great there?

Demo Christmas Lunch

Wednesday we had a luncheon at Carol Seitz(my upline) house.  What a wonderful day!  Carol called it a simple lunch.  Well, it was spectacular.  Good food, good friend, fun and so beautiful.  Thank you Carol for making us all feel so special.  Check back tomorrow to see the Christmas décor item she made for all of her 1st line downline. 

UPS Deliveries in The Villages

This is the way we receive our Stampin' Up shipments in The Villages via UPS men and women on golf carts .  They came to my door nearly every day this week.  I was finally able to snap a picture for my blog.  It wasn't easy because they are so quick.  The golf carts must make getting around to all their stops faster.
