Canal Street Class Cards from November 13,2014 & Upcoming Sale

The top two cards I taught at Canal Street classes last week.  The first card is a bright birthday card using Endless Birthday stamp set.  The Ornamental Pine card was cased from Dawn Olchefske.  I added ribbon and sequins to mine.  I love the soft colors.  Nancy's Christmas card uses Daydream Medallions and the Joy is from Bright & Beautiful stamp set.  I love the masculine birthday card Nancy made with Wetlands and Four Feathers.  The sets work well together.  She also used gold sequins on her card.  Check back on the 21st for more information about an online sale Stampin' Up will have from November 24-December 2.  You can buy Christmas presents for yourself.

This was the favorite project we made at the Christmas Gift class.  I bought the Chiaro Natural Stone  tiles at Lowe's.  Make sure to wash them at least a day ahead and let them dry.  I stamped with Black Staz On ink and sprinkled clear embossing powder and heated the stones for 3-5 minutes until the powder melted.  It takes 15 minutes or more for the tiles to cool again.  I added color by using Blendabilities markers and applying the ink with sponge daubers.  Applying the ink directly with the marker would probably ruin the tips in a short time since the tiles have rough spots.  Each tile looks very individual due to the natural tiles.  These are great thirsty stone drink coasters.  The ink is permanent and the tile soak up all the moisture from those sweaty drink glasses!

Four Feathers Desk top Calendar Post it Note Holder

At my recent gift class we made this desk top calendar and post it note holder.  I used black which will match any décor and be suitable for male or female.  I saw a you tube by Scrappy Bookworm's Easel Calendar with Post it notes and mini pen tutorial that inspired my project.  I used full size Pentel RSVP pens.  You will need two pieces one of each 6" x 11 1/2" and 6" x 5".  Back to Black DSP 5 1/4" x 1 3/4", 3/4" x 3 3/8".You also need a small calendar and 3 x 3 post it notes.  Score the 6 x 12 piece at 2 1/2", 5,10, 10 3/8, 10 3/4, 11 1/8".

Christmas Ornaments

These are 2 of the ornaments we made at my recent Christmas gift class.  The top one used simply pressed clay.  I inked the stamps with Cherry Cobbler ink before pressing them in the ink.  The other option was to pounce the stamp on the embossing buddy and then lightly pressing it in the clay.  It takes 24 hours to completely dry.  Then the hanger can be threaded and it could be packaged for gift giving.  The angel ornament was made with the gift bow Bigz die.  I embellished the center with a snowflake from the frosted sequins.

Nancy's cards from October 9, 2014

I had a wonderful vacation in Curacao with my husband and daughter.  Nancy made these cards for class while I was away.  I'm not sure what happened to the picture of the 4th one.

The top 2 cards are Nancy's and the bottom  2 are mine.  I CASED mine from Pinterest.  The feather card was done by Artisan Designer Tenale Williams from Australia.  I love her work!
