Canal Street Class November 14th

These are the two cards Nancy taught. I love the look of a Polaroid picture that you can create with the new square framelits. The snowflake card is embossed with silver embossing powder. She used brushed silver paper embossed with the stylish stripes folder.

The Joyful Christmas card was made with versa mark ink and black embossing powder. We had some difficulty making this card. The problem was often the embossed area became flat and dull instead of raised and glossy. In the afternoon class we finally realized it was due to overheating it. Sometimes it would turn glossy and even though the heat tool was turned off it continued to hold the heat in the cherry cobbler paper. If you want to try this card, I would recommend using black Staz on ink and clear embossing powder. I think there is less of a chance of overheating. It is easy to see the clear powder melt over the black ink.

Stampin' Up has just released a kit to make 10 snowflake ornaments for $14.95. You do not need the festive flurry dies. All pieces are cut and scored for you. All you need to do is assemble. Thank You Luncheon

Thursday I had a thank you luncheon for the people I recruited last year that helped me earn the trip to San Diego. I also invited Carol Seitz my upline who continues to help support me in my business. We had a wonderful Mexican themed meal of margaritas, fish tacos, turkey burritos, rice and beans. We had Mexican wedding cakes and some great spicy dark Mexican chocolate for dessert. Thanks to all of you that attended we had a great afternoon! Canal Street Class cards October 24th

This first card was Carrie's using Festive Flurry's stamp set and framelits. The base was prepared before class using the circle thinlit die and circles die. The second card was also Carrie's. The Autumn Accents Die # 127812 is on sale this week for $16.46. The stamp set used was Banner greetings(hostess set) and Wonderfall. The last two cards were Nancy's.
